SOUTH PASSAGE DAILY REPORT CLIENT: St Philips Christian College VOYAGE NUMBER: 20111022 FROM: Newcastle TO: Port Stevens DATE: 22nd October 2011 TIME: 2000 hrs POSITION….Fingal Bay. We boarded ship at 9am and we were out of the harbour at 10.30am, after a safety briefing. Parents were waving from the foreshore. We watched Stockton beach for most of the day, while sailing towards Fingal bay. Several whales were sighted and a display of dolphins were off the bow. We all had 15 minutes at the helm steering the boat, it was an amazing experience. After sailing for around 6 hours covering 20 miles, we arrived at Fingal bay and went for a nice surprise…. The beach! The water was very cold but quite refreshing. We had games of touch football and jumped off the rocks into the water, while others took a short walk to the light house. We had a nice stir fry dinner, followed by a delicious berry cheese cake. In all it was a fantastic day, we all had a great experience and learnt heaps! And we have a wonderful leader, Steve, that taught us lots!
