South Passage Daily Report

CLIENT: General Public Voyage

VOYAGE NUMBER:  20220816

FROM: Townsville to Mackay

DATE: 18 August 2022

POSITION: Butterfly Bay

REPORT BY: Blue Watch

There is a majestic sense of freedom about sailing the waters of the Whitsundays. The beauty of nature of both water and land is inspiring.  We had a joyous passage from Gloucester Island to Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island where we swam and snorkelled in crystal clear water. Some hardy souls climbed the bluff.

We encountered magnificent humpback whales frolicking on their way South with their new-born calves and to top it off there were a family of manta rays to welcome us to our night time anchorage at Butterfly Bay. Louise, as usual, served a delicious heart-warming meal with the best mash on the planet!
